How to Generate Homemade Electricity Using Wind & Sun

Energy prices are going up day by day and power is more expensive each year, because oil prices keep increasing. It has become a volatile industry and it has become impossible for us to budget our expenses. The only way to save on power bills until now was to cut the usage of electrical appliances.

Now it is possible to generate green power in our own homes and make use of the electricity generated as substitute power. The only expense is the investment costs and after that you start saving on power bills. So how you can generate your own electricity at home? It is now easy to generate home made electricity and there are several ready-made kits available in the market. There are two main ways to do it.

One is using solar power and the other is using wind power. It is also possible to generate hydro electricity at home. However it is very expensive to install hydro electricity units. The easiest and cost effective solutions are wind energy and solar energy. Solar panels are ideally suited top places that are hot and sunny most of the year. The solar panel converts the heat energy into mechanical energy and you can use it to run appliances like TV, PC, radio and anything else you want.

Wind energy requires installing of a windmill and is ideally suited for places that are at a high altitude or in open ranges. Windmills can also be installed in homes but they have to be tall. The windmills convert the kinetic energy of the wind into mechanical energy that is used as power to run our daily lives. Once you choose the method of green power, you have to choose how much power you want to generate and based on that you need to install the unit.

To make solar panels work, you will need a lot of solar power (Sun energy), so in cold and rarely sunny countries, this might not be the best idea. However, if you build a windmill, then it will work literally anywhere, because there is always some wind, even if you can't feel it.
