Writing Articles - Should I Employ Keyword Optimization?

Competition over the Internet in any niche is becoming more and more fierce. Most websites want to achieve a number one ranking, and if not, at least a position between one and 10, but not everyone will achieve this.

Only those that adopt search engine optimization and other factors can ever hope to achieve a top 10 position. So, why is everyone chasing these positions?

Well, the higher the ranking of your website, the more likely you will achieve high numbers of hits and traffic to your site. And at the end of the day, we all are in business to generate income. So the more articles we generate, the better it is for us.

Now, how do you employ keyword optimization? Well, there are certain factors you should adopt, but before I begin, it is unlikely you will fail with your articles if you do not use keyword optimization. What I'm trying to say is you can succeed, but you will find it easier if you adopt these techniques.

Some marketers state that you should attain at least between 3 and 10% keyword density in your articles. I totally disagree. What I believe you should do is adopt certain keywords, include them in your article and title, and then forget them. There is no point in trying to get as many of your keywords in your article as possible, as you will find that your article becomes clumsy to read.

And at the end of the day, you are writing an article so that your reader, a human being, will read to the end and enjoy the content of your article. So forget about keyword density.

It must also be stated that if your article is littered with keywords, then you might find that the article directory will not approve of your article. This is a new phenomenon that has only taken place in the last three to six months. So how can you employ keyword optimization?

1 - Write your article around a tight niche. When you draft the title, ensure that your title is keyword optimized.

2 - Avoid using your keyword repeatedly within your article. Do not use your keyword more than once in any particular sentence.

3 - It is important that your chosen keyword is relevant to your website and its content. There is absolutely no point in drafting a title that states that your article is about cats and dogs and then go on to write about birds. The content of your article must be relevant to your headline, and try to ensure that the use of your keyword is placed in the top half of your article. Many search engine spiders do not go beyond the first half of your article.

4 - Include variations of spellings of your keyword and also include plurals so that you can use the keyword several times without overdoing it.

When you use keyword optimizations in your articles, you will find that your website will rank higher, which, in turn, will increase the number of hits and traffic you achieve to your site.
